Chevrolet Car Loan Calculator
Estimate monthly payments, amount financed, total interest, and total paid using vehicle price, down payment, trade-in, fees, APR, and loan term.
About the Chevrolet Car Loan Calculator
Financing a Chevrolet involves more than the monthly payment. The Chevrolet Car Loan Calculator estimates monthly payments, amount financed, total interest, and total paid using vehicle price, down payment, trade-in value, taxes and fees, APR, and loan term. It also models an extra monthly payment to show how much interest and time you can save.
Use it to compare loan terms, evaluate the impact of a larger down payment, or see how an extra payment accelerates payoff.
Formula used
amount financed = vehicle price - down payment - trade-in value + taxes and fees
monthly rate = APR / 100 / 12
n = loan term in months
monthly payment = (amount financed x monthly rate x (1 + monthly rate)^n) / ((1 + monthly rate)^n - 1)
if APR = 0: monthly payment = amount financed / n
total paid = monthly payment x n
total interest = total paid - amount financed
extra payment: amortize until balance reaches zero, recompute total interest
How to use
- Enter vehicle price, down payment, trade-in value, and taxes and fees.
- Enter APR and loan term in months.
- Optionally enter an extra monthly payment.
- Click Calculate to see amount financed, monthly payment, total paid, total interest, and amortization.
Worked example
A 35,000 dollar vehicle with 5,000 down, 6.5 percent APR, and 60 months produces a monthly payment of about 587 dollars, total paid of about 35,220 dollars, and interest of about 5,220 dollars. Adding 100 dollars per month shortens the term and reduces interest.
Limitations
Results are estimates and are not a loan offer. Actual loan terms, rates, and payments depend on the lender, credit profile, and fees. Currency is entered as text such as USD.
Frequently asked questions
What currency should I use?
Enter any currency code or symbol as text, such as USD, EUR, or GBP, and keep all money inputs in that currency.
Does the extra payment reduce the term?
Yes. The calculator shows the number of months to pay off the loan with the extra payment and the interest saved.
Is the interest simple or compound?
